How to use CYRM
Everything you need to get the most out of your AI-powered reminders.
1. Getting started
CYRM connects to your Google Calendar and creates events from emails you send or forward. There's nothing to install — it works through email.
- 1 Sign in with Google and grant calendar access. CYRM only creates, edits, and deletes events it created — it cannot read your existing calendar.
- 2 Save hi@cyrm.to as a contact so it's easy to find.
- 3 Send or forward any email with a reminder intent. CYRM does the rest.
2. Sending reminders
Email hi@cyrm.to from the email address linked to your CYRM account. Write naturally — no special format needed.
Examples that work well
"Remind me next Thursday to follow up with Sarah about the contract renewal."
"Call dentist on March 28 at 3pm to reschedule my appointment."
"Remind me every Monday morning to send the weekly report to the team."
"Q2 board prep — start of April. Need slides, financials, and risk summary."
You'll receive a confirmation email with the event details and links to edit or delete the reminder.
3. Best practices
Include a specific date or timeframe
Say "next Friday", "March 15", or "end of April" rather than "soon" or "later". Specific dates make for precise calendar events.
Add context, not just the task
Instead of "follow up with John", write "follow up with John — he's reviewing the proposal and needs an answer on pricing." That context is what you'll actually need at the time of the reminder.
One reminder per email
CYRM creates one calendar event per email. If you have multiple reminders, send separate emails for each.
Specify time when it matters
Include "at 2pm" or "9am" for time-sensitive events. Otherwise CYRM creates an all-day event, which is fine for deadlines and milestones.
4. Forwarding email threads
Forwarding is one of CYRM's most powerful features. Forward any email thread to hi@cyrm.to and add your reminder intent at the top.
Important: always add a note at the top
CYRM reads only the first message in a thread to determine intent. When forwarding, add your reminder note at the very top of the forwarded email — e.g. "Remind me next Monday to reply to this."
CYRM uses the entire thread to enrich the event description, giving you full context when the reminder fires.
5. When CYRM needs more info
If your email doesn't include enough detail (like a missing date or unclear intent), CYRM will reply with a specific question rather than guessing.
When this happens, send a new, complete reminder to hi@cyrm.to — as if you're starting fresh, but this time making sure the missing detail is included. CYRM will automatically discard the pending reminder and process the new one.
Don't just answer the question
CYRM doesn't remember previous messages. Replying with only the missing detail won't work — it needs the full reminder context to create a proper calendar event.
Example
CYRM asks: "What date or time did you have in mind?"
Instead of replying "Next Wednesday at 4pm", send a new email to hi@cyrm.to:
"Remind me next Wednesday at 4pm to follow up with Acme on the Q2 proposal."
6. Editing and deleting reminders
Every confirmation email includes Edit and Delete links that are valid for 7 days. You can also manage all your reminders from the dashboard.
Edits sync to Google Calendar automatically — changing the title, date, or notes in CYRM updates the calendar event in real time.
7. Limitations
CYRM can't read your existing calendar
It only creates, edits, and deletes events it made. It has no visibility into your other events or schedule.
One reminder per email
If you mention multiple dates or tasks in one email, CYRM picks the most prominent one. Send separate emails for separate reminders.
Emails must come from your registered address
CYRM links reminders to your account by email address. Emails from other addresses won't be associated with your account.
Your email body is never stored
CYRM discards the raw email immediately after parsing. Only the extracted reminder data is saved.
